Mechanical Seal Parts & Components for Pumps

Mechanical Seal pumps are the most widely used type of pump and consist of a mechanical seal between the shaft and the pump housing. Whilst one face is fixed to the equipment casing/vessel, the other side is fixed to the shaft and therefore rotates with it. By maintaining a film of lubricant between both seal faces, frictional heat and wear can be controlled.
