Self-priming centrifugal pumps can prime themselves when positioned above the suction source. Standard pumps commonly require a flooded suction to operate correctly, in situations when this is not guaranteed self-priming pumps are a necessity to ensure pumping of the fluid is achieved. As a manufacturer of self-priming pumps, our range can be used in a number of applications which include the transfer of clean, dirty and muddy water.
It works by creating negative pressure through the impeller, thus drawing air into the pump. Following this, liquid is then mixed with the air within the casing with fluid present. Finally, once the air is removed from the system, the pump then will operate as normal.
